The education system is constructed based on several aspects that must be executed accurately. Regarding education itself, there should always be one main goal. This goal should consist of successfully presenting information to a student, in a manner that they can understand and carry out what is taught. Educators should continuously work toward finding different methods that assist their students in receiving information properly. Hence, technology has played a pivotal role in providing the education system with many different beneficial outlets regarding such. These outlets do have advantages and disadvantages that can either assist or hinder as educators’ goal. Within this personal philosophy paper, I’ll be providing readers with a full synopsis on technology’s role in education. In education, Technology must be attended to properly, to accordingly fulfill the needs of a classroom.

In recent years, technology and the education system have combined to further enhance the idea of successful schooling. Technology in education has provided both educators and students with a quicker process of accessing resources and information. Before, students and educators would have to trample through several books, libraries, etc; to obtain information for assignments, presentations, and projects. Now, students and educators can find such resources for courses, in only one sitting. With this, Raja & Nagasubramani (2018) states that “The use of the internet allows students to find amazing convenience, they can find various kinds of help, tutorials and other kinds of assisting material which could be used to academically improve and enhance their learning” (p.33). Technology is a part of our education system because of the benefits that proceed. Nonetheless, the continuous enhancement of technology is the reason that it must remain a part of the education system. Considering this idea, Raja & Nagasubramani (2018) explains that “with the onset of computers in education, it has become easier for teachers to impart knowledge and for students to acquire it.” (p.33), which consist of a successful schooling outlook. I believe that educators do have a professional obligation to include technology, understanding how one can effectively transfer and retain information to learners and for instructors. Technology impacts student learning in the sense that students have hands on objectives. This also assist in student engagement throughout the entirety of the lesson. The correct usage of technology attracts the students to the content. Thus, Schindler et al. (2017) explains,

“Another commonality is that most of the technologies, except perhaps for digital games, are designed primarily to promote interaction and collaboration with others. Our search yielded very few studies on how informational technologies, such as video lectures and podcasts, influence student engagement” (p.7).

Utilizing technology causes the students to be the main source of enhancing their own educational process. The students can continuously expand their needs, by utilizing technology and its backing. Technology has shifted the progression of education and has presented simpler aids, which some would consider to be heaven sent.

While many may feel that technology shouldn’t be included into everyday school curriculum, I have decided that including such into my curriculum would be beneficial to my own success. Spiritually, I think that this is a source of assistance that the Lord has provided to this occupation, and I believe that the Lord created this specific aspect to aid his children. For the bible states “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:3, KJV), meaning that all creations were created by the father. When the Lord provides objectives of support, it is our jobs to utilize the help that he has placed before us. With this, the bible also explains that “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;” (Romans 12:6, KJV). Technology is a God given gift that we must not take advantage of; but apply and use it for the glorification of God. In the end, I feel that it is an educator’s job to execute this occupation with a heart for the learners and the Lord. Remembering the bible verse which states, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Colossians 3:23, KJV). In everything we do, it must be done to reverence our Lord, forgetting the judgment of others. As seen on many occasions within the bible, the Lord will always provide resources to his sheep. It is our jobs keep our hearts and minds always stayed on him.

In conclusion, technology is an asset to the education system, that can also be considered a gift from God. This resource can play a pivotal role in various classrooms depending upon the choice of usage. While my desired content area is theatre arts, technology will be used as one of the main resources of instruction. Providing my students with a continuous flow of audio and visual presentations, I’ll be able to assure that my students can successfully understand what I teach. Being a theater arts educator means that I’ll have to thoroughly devise a plan of effective instruction. Incorporating and utilizing technology within my teaching plans, will give all my lessons a robust structure.
